Fall is a great season for interior design. Manufacturers spend the beginning of the year figuring out what customers like to buy, and then tweak and perfect those products over the summer. Nylon carpet fiber is nothing new… in fact, it has been known as the most durable and resilient fiber on the market since the 1940’s. Nylon carpet can withstand extremely heavy traffic, even on staircases and hallways, without looking worn and crushed. But as with many things in life, there is no rose without a thorn, and nylon carpet couldn’t withstand what had now become common household staining, such a mustard, acne medication, and most household cleaners. Rather than correct the issue from within, carpet companies starting covering their nylon carpet in heavy chemicals, such as Stainmaster brand.
As time went on and we all become more conscious and concerned about the heavy amount of chemicals applied to everyday products, consumers decided to move to carpet’s made of polyester, or PET. These carpets were amazing with staining, not even bleach could affect the color! Of course the thorn soon stuck in and we realized they couldn’t withstand the activity of normal household living. They became crushed and worn, requiring constant professional cleaning to look nice again.
So it was back to basics for carpet manufacturers, trying to figure out how to make something that will not only look nice, but look nice longer.

A tough as nails nylon fiber, created and colored in a different way. Rather than the older, standard dying process, Bliss decided to solution dye their nylon carpet fiber, by impregnating the synthetic yarn with pigment. This way, the carpet would be much more colorfast, just like a carrot, no matter how far you peel, it will always be orange.
Taking the high performance of nylon and adding the much needed stain resistance of PET, and creating a carpet that offered everything today’s household needs without sacrificing softness, design and style. These nylons fear nothing! Bleach, wine, mustard – BRING on your worst.
